Paris Peace Forum 2021

From November 11th to 13th, the 4th edition of Paris Peace Forum will take place both virtually and at La Villette in Paris. The Paris Peace Forum is a yearly event dedicated to global governance where governments, NGOs and companies meet to discuss key topics for international peace and security. Prestigious speakers for this year edition such as Kamala Harris, Emmanuel Macron and Antonio Guttieres are already announced.

For the first time, the Forum will inlcude discussions about space, as the issue of space sustainability is getting more and more acknowledged right now by the public and the world leaders (have a read at our article about COP26 and space). While the increasing congestion of orbits is a major concern for the future of space, innovations in the field of SSA (Space Situational Awareness) as well as better regulations and commitment to best practices are part of the solution to address the challenge of Space Traffic Management, and ensure the safety of space activities.

Along with Astroscale, the University of Tokyo, and many space agencies (CNES, EUSST, NASA, CNSA, GISTDA,...), Share My Space will be involved in a full day (Friday 12th) of debates and meetings around the theme of space regulations and space sustainability. More specifically, we will highlight how our optical SSA solutions can adress the issue of cataloguing space debris and enable emerging space powers to perform space surveillance and reinforce the safety of their operations.

Our CTO Romain Lucken will speak in the panel ''Final frontier, final hide-and-seek: Developing capacities for outer space monitoring and operations'' to present how Share My Space solutions are paving the way towards a safe and sustainable use of orbits.
